Wedding Thank you's? - destination wedding thank you note

We are a destination wedding in St. Thomas, and I thought it would be nice to have a postcard from us to send in place of a traditional word of thanks too. It would have to write too much, and I think that would fit with the marriage itself. How do you think this would go? We will stay on the island for about a week after all the leaves, so that they send on the right side before returning home.
