VA loans take much longer than a conventional loan or even a loan from the FHA.
Do not play again "right" with the banks to give clean it for you. 9 weeks is to wait too long to hear "again". In general, it is best three weeks to see if you are approved and how much.
Try contacting the government directly to VA loans. They are usually a little more useful.
